We Meet Your Requirements in Terms of Quality, Environmental Protection, and Safety
We want you to be able to complete your thermotransfer printing project as efficiently and quickly as possible without being held up by additional barriers.
As a specialist and global player for thermal transfer ribbons, it is therefore particularly important to us to produce our formulations according to the strictest quality standards and thus to meet all requirements in an exemplary fashion.
Many industries are bound by specifications: Products from the food industry must be demonstrably safe for foodstuffs. Under certain circumstances, products from the chemical industry can only be sold if they comply with the European Chemicals Regulation REACH. Plus, anyone who operates on international markets must also observe the standards of the respective countries. Our KURZ products are proven to be nationally and internationally certified for the majority of applications.
Declaration of Food Safety
Materials that come into contact with food must be safe and harmless to health. Many of our thermotransfer ribbons meet the standards set by the German certification institute ISEGA or similar institutes. The certificate we have obtained for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food (1935/2004/EC and 10/2011/EU) applies to the entire European area.
Switzerland and USA
Do you offer your products in Switzerland? We work closely with SQTS (Swiss Quality Testing Services), a Swiss laboratory service provider that issues the food safety certificate for the Swiss market and for the whole of Europe. For the U.S. market, SQTS carries out checks according to the guidelines of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Contact us if your ribbons need to be certified for these markets.
EU Chemical Regulation REACH
With our thermal transfer ribbon solutions, you can get started right away. This means that you don’t need to check any special requirements or restrictions due to the raw materials used.
At KURZ, we only use raw materials that are pre-registered or already registered. This also applies to ribbons produced in our non-European locations. Under EU Regulation 1907/2006 of 12/18/2006 (REACH Reg.), our transfer products are classified as products and thus not subject to registration. Safety data sheets are not required for our thermotransfer products.
Furthermore, the ribbons comply with Article 67 of the REACH Regulation. They therefore comply with the requirements of the restrictions in Annex XVII, the restrictions on the manufacture, placing on the market, and use of certain hazardous substances, mixtures, and objects.
Packaging Standards 94/62/EC (Europe) and CONEG (USA)
In Europe, packaging components must comply with standard 94/62/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of December 20, 1994, on packaging and packaging waste. It specifies the maximum amount of lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium that may be contained in packaging components. The same requirements are set out in the CONEG (Coalition of Northeastern Governors) specification for the U.S. market.
With our thermal transfer ribbons for packaging, you’re on the safe side. KURZ ribbons comply with both packaging guidelines in terms of formulation and information from raw material suppliers.
